Front Rangers
Description
The Front Rangers are a co-ed slow-pitch softball team competing in Boulder's Summer Softball League. Many details are yet to be determined, but the general idea is that the team will play 12 weekly games beginning in the first week of May. The games will be a maximum of one hour long. Post-game team meetings in local watering holes will be more or less mandatory. The Boulder Summer Softball League program offers several different leagues based on players' ability levels. We will determine the appropriate league for the Front Rangers once we have enough players. The particular league in which the team will play will determine the nights on which games will be held. However, it appears likely that games will be held on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays. In addition to the weekly games commencing in early May, the league will hold optional tournaments on Saturday, June 24 and Saturday, August 12. The registration fee for the league is $730 per team for 12 games. This fee includes umpires and balls. Divided among 10 players, the cost per player will be $73. Divided among 15 players, the cost will be $49. Each optional tournament carries a fee of $100 per team. The team hopes to have at least 12-15 people on its roster to ensure that it is able to field a complete lineup for each game. The team needs at least 5 men and 5 women. Although only 10 players (5 men, 5 women) may play the field at any given time, up to 14 people (7 men, 7 women) may bat.
